अदृष्टेनाथ भुगुणा भूतले भरतर्षभ । भरतश्रेष्ठ! भूगु नहुषको दिखायी नहीं दे रहे थे। उनके इस प्रकार शाप देनेपर नहुष सर्प होकर पृथ्वीपर गिरने लगे
adṛṣṭenātha bhṛguṇā bhūtale bharatarṣabha | tasmād ayaṃ punaḥ śakro devarājye ’bhiṣicyatām ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: «Oh toro entre los Bharatas, cuando el sabio Bhṛgu ya no se veía sobre la tierra, que Śakra (Indra) sea de nuevo consagrado a la soberanía de los dioses. Pues sin rey no puede sostenerse en parte alguna una vida ordenada; por ello, devolved al antiguo Indra al cargo de señor de los devas».
भीष्म उवाच
