Householder Duties and Daily Offerings
इस प्रकार बलि समर्पण करके ब्राह्मणको विधिपूर्वक भिक्षा दे। यदि ब्राह्मण न मिले तो अन्नमेंसे थोड़ा-सा अग्रग्रास निकालकर उसका अग्निमें होम कर दे ।।
yadā śrāddhaṃ pitṛbhyo 'pi dātum icchet mānavaḥ | tadā paścāt prakurvīta nivṛtte śrāddhakarmaṇi ||
Así, tras ofrecer el bali, debe darse limosna al brahmán conforme al rito. Si no se hallare brahmán, extráigase del alimento un pequeño bocado primero y ofrézcase en homa al fuego. Y si el hombre desea también ofrecer un śrāddha a los Pitṛs (los espíritus ancestrales), hágalo sólo después, una vez concluido el rito principal del śrāddha.
