अध्याय ९५: चित्राङ्गदस्य गन्धर्वेण सह संग्रामः तथा विचित्रवीर्यस्य राज्याभिषेकः
Chitrāṅgada’s duel with the Gandharva and Vicitravīrya’s consecration
इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत आदिपरव्वके अन्तर्गत सम्भवपर्वमें उत्तरयगायातसमाप्तिविषयक तिरानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ ॥/ ९३ ॥। (दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठके २०३ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल ४८ ३ “लोक हैं) नमन () अजआत+- - ये वसुमान् नामसे भी प्रसिद्ध थे। चतुर्नवतितमो< ध्याय: पूरुवंशका वर्णन जनमेजय उवाच भगवज्छोतुमिच्छामि पूरोर्वशकरान् नृपान् । यद्वीर्यान् यादृशांश्वापि यावतो यत्पराक्रमान्,जनमेजय बोले--भगवन! अब मैं पूरुके वंशका विस्तार करनेवाले राजाओंका परिचय सुनना चाहता हूँ। उनका बल और पराक्रम कैसा था? वे कैसे और कितने थे?
Janamejaya uvāca: bhagavañ śrotum icchāmi pūror vaṁśa-karān nṛpān | yad-vīryān yādṛśāṁś cāpi yāvato yat-parākramān ||
Dijo Janamejaya: «Venerable señor, deseo oír acerca de los reyes que engrandecieron y extendieron el linaje de Pūru. ¿Cómo era su poder y su valentía—qué clase de héroes fueron, cuántos hubo, y qué hazañas de arrojo realizaron?»
