The verse highlights dharma through ritual correctness and social harmony: Brahmins preserve śruti by precise recitation (pada/krama), and the king upholds order by honoring and attentively hearing the Vedic rites, showing respect for sacred tradition and learned priests.
During an ongoing sacrifice with many ritual acts, leading Ṛgvedic Brahmins are chanting hymns in formal recitation styles; King Duṣyanta is present and hears the Vedic chanting as the rites proceed.
