सत्यवत्युवाच विद्धि मां भगवन् कनन््यां सदा पितृवशानुगाम्,सत्यवतीने कहा--भगवन्! आपको मालूम होना चाहिये कि मैं सदा अपने पिताके अधीन रहनेवाली कुमारी कन्या हूँ
satyavaty uvāca—viddhi māṃ bhagavan kanyāṃ sadā pitṛvaśānugām |
Dijo Satyavatī: «Oh venerable señor, sabed esto de mí: soy una doncella no desposada, que siempre ha vivido en obediencia a la autoridad de mi padre».
