Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic urgency and compassion: when a life that sustains a lineage and social order is threatened, timely action and healing become a moral duty. It also underscores the value placed on protecting rightful succession and preventing needless loss.

Kāśyapa declares that a powerful serpent-king has bitten a mighty king who safeguards the Pāṇḍavas’ line. He therefore hurries to neutralize the poison-induced affliction immediately and save the king’s life.
