Garuḍa–Śakra Saṃvāda and the Retrieval of Amṛta (गरुड–शक्र संवादः अमृत-अपहरण-प्रसङ्गः)
इति समरवरं सुरा: स्थितास्ते परिघसहस्रशतै: समाकुलम् । विगलितमिव चाम्बरान्तरं तपनमरीचिविकाशितं बभासे
iti samaravaraṃ surāḥ sthitās te parighasahasraśataiḥ samākulam | vigalitam iva cāmbarāntaraṃ tapanamarīcivikāśitaṃ babhāse ||
Dijo Kāśyapa: «Así, aquellos dioses radiantes quedaron en pie, dispuestos para aquella excelente batalla. El campo, atestado de cientos de miles de mazas de hierro y otras armas, resplandecía como si fuese otro cielo: desgarrado y esparcido, y sin embargo iluminado por los rayos que se abrían del sol.»
कश्यप उवाच
The verse highlights the paradox of war: even a ‘righteous’ or divinely sanctioned battle is visually and morally overwhelming—brilliant with power yet marked by destruction—implying the need for discernment, discipline, and ethical restraint amid violence.
Kaśyapa describes the gods standing prepared for an excellent battle, while the battlefield is packed with countless weapons (especially iron clubs) and gleams under the sun’s rays, compared to a second sky that seems torn and scattered.
