त॑ चोपाध्याय: प्रेषषामास वत्सोपमन्यो गा रक्षस्वेति,उसे उपाध्यायने आदेश दिया--“वत्स उपमन्यु! तुम गौओंकी रक्षा करो”
taṁ copādhyāyaḥ preṣayāmāsa vatsopamanyo gā rakṣasveti
Entonces el maestro lo envió con esta orden: «Hijo mío, Upamanyu, ve y guarda las vacas». Este episodio enmarca la formación del discípulo en la obediencia, la humildad y el servicio disciplinado al maestro (guru-sevā), como cimiento del saber y del carácter.
