Garuḍa’s Inquiry on Permissible Prey and Vinatā’s Counsel (ब्राह्मणावध्यता–उपदेशः)
अद्यार्धरात्रसमये सर्वलोकभयावह: । उत्पत्स्यते महान् दाहस्त्रैलोक्यस्य विनाशन:,“देवगण! आज आधी रातके समय सब लोकोंको भयभीत करनेवाला महान् दाह उत्पन्न होगा, जो तीनों लोकोंका विनाश करनेवाला हो सकता है'
adyārdharātrasamaye sarvalokabhayāvahaḥ | utpatsyate mahān dāhas trailokyasya vināśanaḥ ||
Yuparṇa dijo: «¡Oh dioses! Esta noche, justo a la medianoche, surgirá una gran conflagración, temible para todos los mundos, capaz de traer la ruina de los tres mundos.»
युपर्ण उवाच
The verse frames a moral and cosmic warning: when disorder threatens the worlds, timely recognition of ominous signs and responsible action become part of dharma—protecting beings and preserving order rather than ignoring impending harm.
Yuparṇa addresses the gods and foretells that at midnight a terrifying, world-threatening fire will arise—an ominous announcement meant to alert divine beings to an imminent catastrophe affecting the three worlds.
