त्वयाग्नौ ते परीताश्ष स्वयं हि मम संनिधौ । प्रतिश्रुतं तथा चेति ज्वलनेन महात्मना,“मेरे पास ही तुमने अग्निदेवको स्वयं अपने पुत्र सौंपे थे और उन महात्मा अग्निने भी उनकी रक्षाके लिये प्रतिज्ञा की थी

Transliteration

tvayāgnau te parītāś ca svayaṁ hi mama saṁnidhau | pratiśrutaṁ tathā ceti jvalanena mahātmanā ||

Translation

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «En mi misma presencia confiaste a esos hijos a Agni en persona, y aquel magnánimo Señor del Fuego también dio su palabra de protegerlos. Por ello, esa promesa, hecha abiertamente, es vinculante y no puede ser desechada.»
