वैशम्पायन उवाच यदर्थ शार्कईकानग्निर्न ददाह तथागते । तत्‌ ते सर्व प्रवक्ष्यामि यथाभूतमरिंदम,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--शत्रुदमन जनमेजय! वैसे भयंकर अग्निकाण्डमें भी अग्निदेवने जिस कारणसे शाडूर्गकोंको दग्ध नहीं किया और जिस प्रकार वह घटना घटित हुई, वह सब मैं तुम्हें बताता हूँ, सुनो

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | yadarthaṃ śārkāikān agnir na dadāha tathāgate | tat te sarvaṃ pravakṣyāmi yathābhūtam ariṃdama ||

Translation

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Oh domador de enemigos, te diré por completo, tal como fue en verdad, la razón por la cual, aun cuando aquella terrible conflagración ya había ocurrido, Agni no quemó a los Śārkāikas, y cómo exactamente se desenvolvió aquel suceso. Escucha.»
