Jarītā–Śārṅgā-saṃvāda: Ākhu-haraṇa and the Approach of Agni (आखुहरणं अग्न्यागमनश्च)
प्रदीप्तं खाण्डवं दृष्ट्वा ये स्युस्तत्र निवासिन: । परम॑ यत्नमातिष्ठन् पावकस्य प्रशान्तये,खाण्डववनको जलते देख वहाँ रहनेवाले प्राणियोंने उस आगको बुझानेके लिये बड़ा यत्न किया
pradīptaṃ khāṇḍavaṃ dṛṣṭvā ye syus tatra nivāsinaḥ | paramaṃ yatnam ātiṣṭhan pāvakasya praśāntaye ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: Al ver el bosque de Khāṇḍava en llamas, los seres que allí habitaban hicieron el mayor de los esfuerzos por apagar el fuego de Pāvaka (Agni).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
In the face of imminent harm, beings naturally strive to protect life and community; the verse highlights urgent, collective action to reduce suffering by attempting to pacify the destructive force of fire.
The Khāṇḍava forest is seen burning, and its inhabitants—those living within it—make intense efforts to extinguish or calm the fire (Agni/Pāvaka).
