तैस्तैरविंहारैर्बहुभिदैत्यानां कामरूपिणाम् | समा: संक्रीडतां तेषामहरेकमिवाभवत्,इच्छानुसार रूप धारण करनेवाले वे दैत्य वर्षोतक भाँति-भाँतिके खेल-कूद और आमोद-प्रमोद करनेमें लगे रहे; किंतु वह सारा समय उन्हें एक दिनके समान लगा
taistair avihārair bahubhir daityānāṁ kāmarūpiṇām | samāḥ saṅkrīḍatāṁ teṣām ahar ekam ivābhavat |
Nārada dijo: «Con aquellos entretenimientos, muchos y variados, los Dānavas, capaces de mudar de forma a voluntad, se entregaban al juego y al placer. Para ellos, aun los años enteros pasaban como si fuesen un solo día».
नारद उवाच
Intense immersion in pleasure and desire can distort one’s sense of time—years feel like a day—yet such enjoyment does not free one; it reinforces attachment and delusion.
Nārada describes the shape-shifting Daityas engaging in many kinds of sports and enjoyments, so absorbed that long stretches of time (years) seem to them to pass like a single day.
