धृष्टह्ुम्न उवाच
The verse links the fulfillment of a righteous intention with the fruition of past merit: true success is measured not merely by attainment, but by whether it yields yaśas (honorable reputation), puṇya (moral/spiritual merit), and hita (genuine welfare).
Dhṛṣṭadyumna speaks of a personal resolve or desired outcome, stating that if it is achieved he will consider it the result of his virtuous deeds, bringing him honor, merit, and benefit.
