केचिदासन् विमनस: केचिदासन् मुदान्विता: । आहुः परस्परं केचिन्निपुणा बुद्धिजीविन:
kechid āsan vimanasaḥ kechid āsan mudānvitāḥ | āhuḥ parasparaṃ kechin nipuṇā buddhijīvinaḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Unos quedaron abatidos, mientras otros se llenaron de alegría. Y ciertos brahmanes—diestros y que vivían de su intelecto—comenzaron a hablar entre sí de esta manera:
