उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः
Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse
सौतिर्वाच नारायणवच: श्रुत्वा बलिनस्ते महोदथे: । तत् पय:ः सहिता भूयश्नचक्रिरे भूशभाकुलम्,उग्रश्रवाजी कहते हैं--शौनकजी! भगवान् नारायणका वचन सुनकर देवताओं और दानवोंका बल बढ़ गया। उन सबने मिलकर पुनः वेगपूर्वक महासागरका वह जल मथना आरम्भ किया और उस समस्त जलराशिको अत्यन्त क्षुब्ध कर डाला
sautir uvāca nārāyaṇavacaḥ śrutvā balinas te mahodadheḥ | tat payaḥ-sahitā bhūyaś cakrire bhūśa-bhākulam ||
Dijo Sauti: «¡Oh Śaunaka! Al oír las palabras de Nārāyaṇa, crecieron la fuerza y la determinación de aquellos poderosos. Entonces, uniéndose de nuevo, comenzaron a batir el gran océano con renovado ímpetu, agitando violentamente toda la masa de sus aguas».
