असम्बाधा देवनदी स्वर्गसम्पादनी शुभा | कथमिच्छसि तां रोद्धुं नैष धर्म: सनातनः,ये कल्याणमयी देवनदी सब प्रकारकी विघ्न-बाधाओंसे रहित एवं स्वर्गलोककी प्राप्ति करानेवाली हैं। तुम उन्हीं गंगाजीपर किसलिये रोक लगाना चाहते हो? यह सनातन धर्म नहीं है
arjuna uvāca |
asambādhā devanadī svargasampādanī śubhā |
katham icchasi tāṁ roddhuṁ naiṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
Arjuna dijo: «Este río divino es libre de obstáculos, auspicioso y concede la obtención del cielo. ¿Por qué deseas contenerlo? Tal acto no concuerda con el dharma eterno.»
अजुन उवाच
The verse frames dharma as an eternal moral order: obstructing a sacred, beneficent force (symbolized by the divine river that grants spiritual merit) is portrayed as contrary to sanātana-dharma.
Arjuna challenges another’s intention to block the divine river, arguing that the river is inherently auspicious and spiritually fruitful; therefore, restraining her would be unrighteous.
