Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)

ब्राह्मण उवाच एवमुक्‍्त्वा तु याजेन हुते हविषि संस्कृते । उत्तस्थौ पावकात्‌ तस्मात्‌ कुमारो देवसंनिभ:,ब्राह्मण कहता है--यों कहकर याजने उस संस्कारयुक्त हविष्यकी आहुति ज्यों ही अग्निमें डाली, त्यों ही उस अग्निसे देवताके समान तेजस्वी एक कुमार प्रकट हुआ

brāhmaṇa uvāca | evam uktvā tu yājena hute haviṣi saṁskṛte | uttasthau pāvakāt tasmāt kumāro devasaṁnibhaḥ ||

Dijo el brāhmaṇa: «Habiendo hablado así, tan pronto como Yāja ofreció en el fuego la oblación debidamente consagrada, de aquella misma llama se alzó un niño radiante, resplandeciente como un dios».
