संवरणस्य पतनं, सचिवोपचारः, वसिष्ठस्य सूर्योपगमनम्

नेदं लोभान्न चाज्ञानान्न च मोहाद्‌ विनिश्चितम्‌ | बुद्धिपूर्व तु धर्मस्य व्यवसाय: कृतो मया,मैंने न लोभसे, न अज्ञानसे और न मोहसे ऐसा विचार किया है, अपितु बुद्धिके द्वारा खूब सोच-समझकर विशुद्ध धर्मानुकूल निश्चय किया है

nedaṁ lobhān na cājñānān na ca mohād viniścitam | buddhi-pūrvaṁ tu dharmasya vyavasāyaḥ kṛto mayā ||

Dijo Yudhiṣṭhira: «Esta determinación mía no nació de la codicia, ni de la ignorancia, ni del engaño. Antes bien, tras deliberar con cuidado y guiado por la razón, he tomado una decisión firme que concuerda con el dharma puro.»
