बक-राक्षसस्य आह्वानम् तथा वृक्षयुद्धम्
Summons of Baka and the Tree-Weapon Engagement
तच्छुत्वा भीमसेनस्य मातृस्नेहात् प्रजल्पितम् । कारुण्येन मनस्तप्तं गमनायोपचक्रमे,माताका वात्सल्यसे कहा हुआ वह वचन सुनकर भीमसेनका हृदय करुणासे भर आया। वे मन-ही-मन संतप्त हो उठे और स्वयं ही (पानी लानेके लिये) जानेकी तैयारी करने लगे
tac chrutvā bhīmasenasya mātṛsnehāt prajalpitam | kāruṇyena manas taptaṃ gamanāyopacakrame ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Al oír aquellas palabras—pronunciadas por su madre con ternura maternal—el corazón de Bhīmasena se llenó de compasión y se abrasó por dentro. Al instante se dispuso a partir él mismo (para traer agua)».
