Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 146 — Brāhmaṇī’s counsel on grief, duty, and protection of children
The verse highlights practical wisdom aligned with dharma: when danger is reasonably suspected, one should act promptly and prudently to protect life and fulfill one’s responsibilities, rather than remain passive.
Bhīma voices suspicion that the house is designed to catch fire easily and urges immediate departure—returning to their earlier residence—indicating awareness of a possible trap and the need for swift, careful action.
