कृपा न तस्मिन्‌ कर्तव्या हन्यादेवापकारिणम्‌ | हन्यादमित्रं सान्त्वेन तथा दानेन वा पुन:

Transliteration

kṛpā na tasmin kartavyā hanyādevāpakāriṇam | hanyādamitraṃ sāntvena tathā dānena vā punaḥ ||

Translation

«No debe mostrarse piedad mal puesta hacia alguien así; al malhechor hay que abatirlo. Y al enemigo también se le ha de someter: ya sea con conciliación o, de nuevo, con dádivas.»
