पज्चभि भ्रीतिभि: पार्थद्रोण: परिवृतो बभौ | पञ्चतारेण संयुक्त: सावित्रेणेव चन्द्रमा:,इधर कुन्तीकुमार पाँचों भाइयोंसे घिरे हुए आचार्य द्रोण पाँच तारोंवाले हस्त नक्षत्रसे संयुक्त चन्द्रमाकी भाँति शोभा पा रहे थे
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | pañcabhir bhrātṛbhiḥ Pārthadroṇaḥ parivṛto babhau | pañcatāreṇa saṃyuktaḥ sāvitreṇeva candramāḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Rodeado por los cinco hermanos, Droṇa—preceptor de los hijos de Pṛthā—resplandecía como la luna unida al asterismo Hasta de cinco estrellas, bajo la tutela de Savitṛ.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal that a teacher’s honor and brilliance are enhanced by worthy, united disciples; it implicitly commends reverence to the guru and fraternal solidarity as supports of dharma.
Vaiśampāyana describes Droṇa appearing splendid while encircled by the five sons of Kuntī (the Pāṇḍavas), using an astronomical simile: the moon shining when associated with the five-star Hasta asterism under Savitṛ’s influence.
