तुल्येष्वस्त्रोपदेशेषु सौष्ठवेन च वीर्यवान् । एक: सर्वकुमाराणां बभूवातिरथो<र्जुन:
tulyeṣv astropadeśeṣu sauṣṭhavena ca vīryavān | ekaḥ sarvakumārāṇāṃ babhūvātiratho 'rjunaḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Aunque la instrucción en la ciencia de las armas se impartía por igual a todos, el valiente Arjuna—por la excelencia superior que le era propia—fue el único que llegó a ser un atiratha entre todos los príncipes. El pasaje subraya que la igualdad de oportunidades no produce necesariamente igualdad de resultados; la disciplina, la aptitud y la fuerza interior elevan a uno hasta un dominio excepcional.
