तस्य ज्यातलनिर्घोषं द्रोण: शुश्राव भारत । उपेत्य चैनमुत्थाय परिष्वज्येदमब्रवीत्,भारत! उनके धनुषकी प्रत्यंचाका टंकार द्रोणने सोते समय सुना। तब वे उठकर उनके पास गये और उन्हें हृदयसे लगाकर बोले
tasya jyātalanirghoṣaṃ droṇaḥ śuśrāva bhārata | upetya cainam utthāya pariṣvajyedam abravīt ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: ¡Oh, Bhārata! Droṇa oyó, aun estando dormido, el resonante tañido de la cuerda de su arco. Se levantó al instante, se acercó a él, lo estrechó con afecto y pronunció estas palabras—señal de aprobación y de reconocimiento entrañable de la prestancia marcial del discípulo.
