विकारं न हाृजनयत् सुतीक्षणमपि तद् विषम् । भीमसंहनने भीमे अजीर्यत वृकोदरे,यद्यपि वह विष बड़ा तेज था, तो भी उनके लिये कोई बिगाड़ न कर सका। भयंकर शरीरवाले भीमसेनके उदरमें वृक नामकी अग्नि थी; अतः वहाँ जाकर वह विष पच गया
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
vikāraṃ na hājanayat sutīkṣṇam api tad viṣam |
bhīmasaṃhanane bhīme ajīryata vṛkodare ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Ni siquiera aquel veneno, agudísimo y de gran potencia, produjo en Bhīma cambio dañino alguno. En el terrible Bhīma, de complexión poderosa, fue digerido en el vientre de Vṛkodara: su fuego interior lo consumió, y así fracasó el daño que se pretendía.
