क्रीडावसाने ते सर्वे शुचिवस्त्रा: स्वलंकृता: । दिवसान्ते परिश्रान्ता विहृत्य च कुरूद्वहा:,जलक्रीड़ा समाप्त होनेपर दिनके अन्तमें विहारसे थके हुए वे समस्त कुरुश्रेष्ठ वीर शुद्ध वस्त्र धारणकर सुन्दर आभूषणोंसे विभूषित हो उन क्रीड़ाभवनोंमें ही रात बितानेका विचार करने लगे। बलवान्‌ भीमसेन उस समय अधिक परिश्रम करनेके कारण बहुत थक गये थे

krīḍāvasāne te sarve śucivastrāḥ sv-alaṅkṛtāḥ | divasānte pariśrāntā vihṛtya ca kurūdvahāḥ |

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Cuando terminaron los juegos de agua y el recreo, al caer el día, todos aquellos héroes, los más ilustres de los Kurus—tras divertirse y ya cansados—se vistieron con ropas limpias y se adornaron con joyas, y dispusieron pasar la noche allí mismo, en los pabellones de placer. Bhīmasena, aunque poderoso, estaba entonces particularmente exhausto por haberse esforzado más que los demás.
