वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमुक्तस्ततो राज्ञा प्रसादमकरोन्मुनि: । कृतप्रसादं राजा तं तत: समवतारयत्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! राजाके यों कहनेपर मुनि उनपर प्रसन्न हो गये। राजाने उन्हें प्रसन्न जानकर शूलीसे उतार दिया
vaiśampāyana uvāca evam uktas tato rājñā prasādam akarod muniḥ | kṛta-prasādaṃ rājā taṃ tataḥ samavātārayat ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Así interpelado por el rey, el sabio se mostró benigno y concedió su favor. Al ver que su ira había cesado y que su benevolencia había vuelto, el rey ordenó entonces que lo bajaran (lo liberaran) de la estaca.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When anger or punishment has served its purpose and the offended party is appeased, dharma favors restraint and timely release; a ruler should shift from severity to mercy once reconciliation is achieved.
After the king speaks in a way that satisfies the sage, the sage becomes calm and favorable; recognizing this, the king orders that the sage be taken down—i.e., freed from the stake/punitive situation.
