Pāṇḍu’s Marriages, Conquests, and Triumphal Return (पाण्डोर्विवाह-विजय-प्रत्यागमनम्)
सत्यमेतन्महाबाहो यथा वदसि भारत । विश्वासात् ते प्रवक्ष्यामि संतानाय कुलस्य न:
satyam etan mahābāho yathā vadasi bhārata | viśvāsāt te pravakṣyāmi santānāya kulasya naḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Es verdad, oh de brazos poderosos; es exactamente como dices, oh Bhārata. Porque confío en ti, te revelaré algo, para que se conserve la estirpe de nuestra familia».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Truthfulness joined with responsible disclosure: the speaker affirms the other’s words as true and, grounded in trust, shares confidential knowledge for the higher good—protecting the family’s continuity (kula-santāna).
In the flow of Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a speaker addresses a revered Kuru figure (styled “Mahābāhu” and “Bhārata”), agrees with his assessment, and promises to reveal an important matter specifically aimed at safeguarding the continuation of the dynasty.
