Educational Q&A

Even when overwhelmed by grief, a dharmic person upholds obligatory duties—especially rites owed to the dead—ensuring they are performed correctly and in accordance with elders’ and lawful authority’s instructions.

After King Vicitravīrya’s death, Bhīṣma—though sorrow-stricken—arranges and completes all the required funerary rites with priests and Kuru elders, acting under Satyavatī’s directive.
