Suta Goswami
It teaches that even a simple, sincere namaskāra to Rudra—central to Linga-pūjā—cuts down pāpa, preparing the pashu (soul) for Shiva’s grace and deeper worship.
Rudra is implied as Pati, the sovereign purifier whose mere remembrance and reverent salutation can dissolve impurities that bind the pashu through pasha.
Namaskāra (prostration/salutation) as a core bhakti-aṅga within Shiva-pūjā and a preparatory discipline aligned with Pāśupata purification.
