Adhyaya 40: Kali-yuga Lakshana, Yuga-sandhyamsha, and the Re-emergence of Dharma
Suta Goswami (narrating the Purana’s cosmological doctrine to the sages at Naimisharanya)
It frames cosmic time as a measurable order within creation, implying that worship of the Linga is oriented to the timeless Pati (Shiva) who transcends the yuga-cycle while sustaining it.
By treating yuga-measure as a created computation, it implicitly distinguishes Shiva-tattva as the transcendent ground: Pati is not bound by kāla, while pashu (souls) experience time under pāśa (bondage).
No specific rite is prescribed; the takeaway is contemplative—Pashupata-oriented practice recognizes time as a limitation (pāśa) and turns the mind toward Shiva, the Lord beyond temporal cycles.
