Shloka 40

विष्णुरुवाच—एकाक्षर-प्रणव-लिङ्ग-व्याप्ति-शिवस्तोत्रम्

एतत्स्तोत्रवरं पुण्यं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम् यः पठेच्छ्रावयेद्वापि ब्राह्मणान् वेदपारगान्

etatstotravaraṃ puṇyaṃ sarvapāpapraṇāśanam yaḥ paṭhecchrāvayedvāpi brāhmaṇān vedapāragān

Este himno excelentísimo es santo y destruye todos los pecados. Quien lo recite—o haga que lo escuchen brāhmaṇas versados en los Vedas—obtiene ese mérito purificador; pues el śravaṇa y el pāṭha conducen al paśu (alma atada) hacia la gracia (anugraha) de Pati, Śiva, el Señor que corta el pāśa (atadura).
