Suta Goswami
It defines the inner qualification for Linga-puja: freedom from greed and mastery of the senses, so worship is not driven by desire (pāśa) but by devotion toward Pati, Shiva.
By implying that approach to Shiva-tattva requires saṃyama and alobha, it points to Shiva as the Pati who is realized when the pashu loosens bondage through disciplined inwardness.
Indriya-nigraha (sense-restraint) and vairāgya (non-attachment) as core limbs of Pashupata-oriented yoga that support pure Shiva-bhakti and steadiness in puja.
