Vīrya, Māyā/Prakṛti, Śrī’s Inseparability, Paramāṇu, and Hari’s Infinitude
Lord Vishnu (teaching Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Concept: Śrī is identified with the presiding ‘I-sense’ (abhimāna) within prakṛti/māyā; through vīryādhāna and conjunction of principles arises a kāryonmukha (action-facing) state, from which the form of Viṣṇu is also spoken of.
Vedantic Theme: Interplay of consciousness, śakti, and manifestation; theistic Sāṅkhya/Vedānta synthesis where prakṛti becomes action-oriented under divine potency.
Application: Use the teaching to refine self-inquiry: observe how ‘I-sense’ appropriates experience; redirect abhimāna toward service of Viṣṇu rather than egoic ownership.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.3.25-26 (Śrī as śakti; māyā as prakṛti); Garuda Purana 3.3.28 (prakṛti’s reality in vyavahāra)
This verse presents Śrī as the presiding identification/power through which a principle becomes experientially ‘owned’ and effective—linking auspicious potency with manifest agency.
It describes manifestation as arising from a purposeful union (mela/melana) and the ‘implantation of potency’ (vīryādhāna), culminating in the declared form of Viṣṇu.
Treat power and prosperity (śrī) as meaningful only when joined to right purpose and action (kāryonmukha)—use resources ethically in service of dharma.
