Lord Vishnu (in dialogue instruction to Garuda/Vinatā-putra)

Concept: Ritual devotion to Viṣṇu generates purifying tejas that destroys pāpa (sarva-pātaka-nāśana).

Vedantic Theme: Īśvara-anugraha as purifier; pāpa-kṣaya through upāsanā and śuddhi of antaḥkaraṇa.

Application: Maintain a consistent pūjā-sequence (dhūpa, dīpa, etc.) with the intention of inner purification; treat worship as a śuddhi-sādhana, not mere formality.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: ritual_space (gṛha-mandira/vedi)

FAQs

This verse presents Vaiṣṇava tejas as a purifying spiritual potency invoked through proper worship and offerings, described as capable of destroying sins.

Indirectly: it emphasizes purification through Vaiṣṇava worship, implying that removing pāpa (sin) supports a better post-death trajectory and reduces harmful karmic consequences.

Perform worship with sincerity and orderly offerings (e.g., incense and subsequent items), cultivating purity of conduct and devotion as a means to reduce negative karmic tendencies.
