Hayagrīva Pūjāvidhi: Root Mantra, Nyāsa, Maṇḍala-Devatā Worship, and Stotra
Concept: Shravana (devotional listening) to instructions on worship is itself a source of spiritual satisfaction and growth; the desire to hear repeatedly signals deepening bhakti.
Vedantic Theme: Satsanga and shravana as preparatory means—refining mind toward steadiness and devotion to Ishvara.
Application: Revisit foundational practices; repeat teachings without boredom; cultivate attentive listening as a discipline (regular study/recitation sessions).
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: dialogue setting (mythic discourse)
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.34.2-3 (Hari begins Hayagriva worship and mantra); Garuda Purana 1.33.15-16 (preceding cakra-stotra and its fruits)
This verse frames deva-archana as a central dharmic practice worth learning repeatedly, highlighting that hearing and practicing worship deepens devotion rather than exhausting it.
Indirectly, it establishes ritual worship and attentive hearing (śravaṇa) as foundations of dharma—preparatory disciplines that support spiritual merit and right living, which the Purana later connects to post-death outcomes.
Revisit core worship practices regularly, listen to authentic teachings with attention, and treat devotional routine as a lifelong refinement rather than a one-time lesson.
