Llevar amuletos protectores como la concha (śaṅkha), semilla de loto, rudrākṣa, vacā (cálamo aromático), hierro y otros; y rendir homenaje a Vainateya (Garuda) con el mantra: «oṃ kaṃ ṭaṃ yaṃ gaṃ vainateyāya namaḥ». Con el mantra «oṃ hoṃ hāṃ haḥ» se obtiene la pacificación para los niños, mediante la purificación ritual (mārjana) y la ofrenda de un bali.
