Primary Rasa: shanta
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.170 (digestive disorders, shula, tridosha formulations)
This verse presents Triphalā as a core formulation for correcting digestive disturbance and relieving pain, showing the text’s practical Ayurvedic guidance alongside its spiritual teachings.
It explicitly states that colic (śūla) arising from all three doṣas can be alleviated using mandūra with Triphalā, administered as a lickable preparation with honey and ghee.
As a takeaway, it highlights diet-digestion balance and classical herbal-mineral combinations; any mandūra-based preparation should be used only under qualified Ayurvedic supervision.
