Cuando se obstruye el sudor, los doṣa, desvanecidos y estancados en el interior, llenan el abdomen y así producen la enfermedad abdominal (udarāmaya).
Lord Vishnu (teaching Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Concept: Neglect of bodily regulation (sveda-vaha-srotas obstruction) leads to disease; care of the body supports dharmic living.
Vedantic Theme: Sharira as an instrument (sadhana) requiring maintenance for pursuit of purusharthas.
Application: Attend to sweating/thermoregulation, avoid suppressing natural urges, and address early signs of abdominal distension before it becomes chronic.
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.161 (Ayurveda/roga-nidana section on udara)
This verse links blocked perspiration (sveda-saṃrodha) with internal stagnation, leading to abdominal filling and the manifestation of udarāmaya.
It does not address the soul’s journey; it explains how internal obstruction and stagnation in the body generate disease during life.
If heat intolerance, reduced sweating, swelling, and abdominal distension occur together, treat it as a serious systemic sign and seek qualified medical care rather than self-neglect.
