oṃ namo vāsudevāya ghṛtavrīhitilādikam / aṣṭākṣareṇa mantreṇa svāhāntena tu homayet
Con el mantra de ocho sílabas «Oṁ namo Vāsudevāya», debe realizarse el homa, ofreciendo al fuego ghee, arroz, sésamo y oblaciones semejantes, concluyendo cada ofrenda con la palabra «svāhā».
