Skandha 9, Adhyaya 5: Yajnavalkya's Hymn to Goddess Saraswati

Text: Chanted by scholars and debaters before entering academic assemblies (Satsabha) to invoke quick wit and logical clarity.
Text: Acknowledges that while fate (Karma/Daiva) can take away worldly and intellectual wealth, the Supreme Mother's grace can override fate and make all things new.
Yajnavalkya asks for 'Pratibha', which means spontaneous brilliance or genius, particularly to shine in assemblies of wise scholars.
He attributes his loss to 'Daivayoga' (the decree of fate or divine will) and asks the Goddess to recreate and renew everything that was lost.
