The Pracetās Meet Lord Viṣṇu—Benedictions, Pure Prayer, and the Birth of Dakṣa
येनोपशान्तिर्भूतानां क्षुल्लकानामपीहताम् । अन्तर्हितोऽन्तर्हृदये कस्मान्नो वेद नाशिष: ॥ २९ ॥
yenopaśāntir bhūtānāṁ kṣullakānām apīhatām antarhito ’ntar-hṛdaye kasmān no veda nāśiṣaḥ
A very advanced devotee does not think himself advanced. He is always very humble. The Supreme Personality of Godhead in His plenary expansion as the Paramātmā, or Supersoul, sits in everyone’s heart and can understand the attitudes and desires of His devotees. The Lord also gives opportunity to the nondevotees to fulfill their desires, as confirmed in Bhagavad-gītā ( mattaḥ smṛtir jñānam apohanaṁ ca ).
This verse states that the Supreme is hidden yet present within the heart (antar-hṛdaye), implying that the Lord as Paramātmā witnesses and knows the inner intentions of all beings.
While offering prayers, the Pracetās reflect that the Lord grants peace even to the smallest striving beings; since He dwells within, He surely knows their inner wishes—so they appeal to Him with confidence.
Cultivate sincerity in prayer and action: focus on inner motives, practice devotion and self-restraint, and seek peace by aligning desires with dharma and bhakti rather than external display.
