This verse identifies Kubera as the divine Yakṣa-pati (leader of the Yakṣas) and states that he was born as the son of Iḍaviḍā.
The verse lists them as brothers born in the same lineage, with Rāvaṇa and Kumbhakarṇa from one wife and Vibhīṣaṇa from another.
Genealogies remind readers that greatness or power by birth does not guarantee dharma; one should choose righteous conduct and devotion, as seen in the contrast implied between figures like Rāvaṇa and Vibhīṣaṇa.
