Este breve himno atharvánico invoca el poder sanador de la hierba Arundhatī (Oṣadhi) para proteger y restaurar la riqueza ganadera —bueyes, vacas lecheras, vacas secas, terneros y todo el rebaño de cuatro patas. Pide un establo abundante en leche y libre de enfermedades, y extiende la misma protección al hogar humano, ahuyentando el temido «proyectil» de Rudra (mortandad repentina/aflicción epidémica). En el estilo doméstico del Atharvaveda, la propia mantra funciona como una carga protectora, aplicada al establo y al rebaño mediante la recitación y un sencillo rito con hierbas.

Oh hierba medicinal: para los bueyes eres la primera; para las vacas lecheras eres tú, oh Arundhatī. Concede amparo a la no ordeñada, a las crías, al rebaño de cuatro patas.

शर्म॑ यच्छ॒त्वोष॑धिः स॒ह दे॒वीर॑रुन्ध॒ती। कर॒त् पय॑स्वन्तं गो॒ष्ठम॑य॒क्ष्मां उ॒त पूरु॑षान्
Que la hierba Arundhatī, junto con las hierbas diosas, conceda protección; que haga el establo rico en leche, libre de la enfermedad consumidora, y también a los hombres.
