Sukta 4
य एनां वनिमायन्ति तेषां देवकृता वशा। ब्रह्मज्येयं तदब्रुवन् य एनां निप्रियायते
yé enā́ṃ vanimā́yanti téṣāṃ devákṛtā vaśā́ | brahmajyéyaṃ tád abruvan yá enāṃ nipriyā́yate ||
They who would bargain over her, for them the vāśā-cow is a god-wrought (bane). ‘A wrong against Brahman-power,’ so have they said, (is the deed) of him who withholdeth her in grudging wise.
Quienes regatean por ella, para ellos la vaca vāśā es un mal forjado por los dioses. «Una falta contra el poder del brahman (brahma)», así se ha dicho, es el acto de quien la retiene con mezquindad y de mala gana.
