[{"question": "What is the philosophical or ethical takeaway?", "answer": "By placing widely known ranges (Vindhya, Malaya) together with Kailāsa, the text frames the physical world as a dharmic map: sacredness is not isolated but distributed, inviting reverence and restraint toward the earth."}, {"question": "How does this fit the Pancalakṣaṇa?", "answer": "Again, this is cosmographic Sarga-type material (world-structure and its notable features), not the Bali narrative or dynastic history."}, {"question": "What is the symbolic significance?", "answer": "Kailāsa functions as a Śaiva axis of sanctity within a broader cosmography, illustrating the Purāṇic habit (including in the Vāmana Purāṇa) of integrating multiple sectarian sacred centers into a single, coherent sacred world."}]

FAQs

Even when the request concerns the highest deity, dharma proceeds through proper social forms: petition, disclosure, and counsel. The verse highlights accountability—Himavat does not act unilaterally but consults the wise.

Ākhyāna/Vamśānucarita-type narrative: it contributes to the legendary-historical thread around divine unions and their consequences in sacred history.

The Saptarṣis as ‘yācitāraḥ’ indicate that cosmic order is maintained through ṛṣi-guided procedure; Maheśvara’s ‘artham’ frames the marriage not as private desire but as a cosmic purpose.
