Duties of Householder and Forest-Dweller
नाभ्यङ्गमर्के न च भूमिपुत्रे क्षौरं च शुक्रे रविजे च मांसम् बुधेषु योषिन्न समाचरेत शेषेषु सर्वाणि सदैव कुर्यात्
nābhyaṅgamarke na ca bhūmiputre kṣauraṃ ca śukre ravije ca māṃsam budheṣu yoṣinna samācareta śeṣeṣu sarvāṇi sadaiva kuryāt
One should not perform oil-anointing and massage on Sunday (the Sun’s day) or on Tuesday (Mars’ day). Shaving should not be done on Friday (Venus’ day). Meat should not be eaten on Sunday. On Wednesday (Mercury’s day) one should not approach women for sexual union. On the remaining days, all these acts may be done.
