निष्कलं निर्मलं शान्तं सर्वातीतं निरामयम् । तदेव जीवरूपेण पुण्यपापफलैर्वृतम् ॥८॥

निष्कलम् । निर्मलम् । शान्तम् । सर्व-अतीतम् । निरामयम् । तत्-एव । जीव-रूपेण । पुण्य-पाप-फलैः । वृतम् ॥

IAST Transliteration

niṣkalaṃ nirmalaṃ śāntaṃ sarvātītaṃ nirāmayam | tad eva jīvarūpeṇa puṇyapāpaphalair vṛtam ||8||

Translation

Partless, stainless, peaceful, transcending all, free from affliction—That alone, in the form of the jīva, is veiled by the fruits of merit and demerit.

Academic Translation

Partless, stainless, peaceful, transcending all, free from disease—That alone, in the form of the individual soul, is covered by the fruits of merit and demerit.
