Paingala Upanishad 2 — Verse 2

स होवाच याज्ञवल्क्यः—अमानित्वादिसम्पन्नो मुमुक्षुरेकविंशतिकुलं तारयति। ब्रह्मविन्मात्रेण कुलमेकोत्तरशतं तारयति ॥२॥

सः । ह । उवाच । याज्ञवल्क्यः । अमानित्व-आदि-सम्पन्नः । मुमुक्षुः । एक-विंशति-कुलम् । तारयति । ब्रह्म-वित्-मात्रेण । कुलम् । एक-उत्तर-शतम् । तारयति ॥२॥

sa hovāca yājñavalkyaḥ—amānitvādisaṃpanno mumukṣur ekaviṃśatikulaṃ tārayati | brahmavinmātreṇa kulam ekottaraśataṃ tārayati ||2||

Yājñavalkya said: “A seeker of liberation, endowed with humility and the like, delivers twenty-one generations of his lineage. By the mere fact of being a knower of Brahman, one delivers one hundred and one generations of the family.”
